Martin Öhlin confirmed for WestCoast Racing in TTA
Martin Öhlin has been confirmed as the second driver for WestCoast Racing BMW Dealer Team in the TTA 2012.
“I really enjoy WestCoast Racing and it feels great to get continued trust with the team. There are a lot of new things waiting next year and I feel comfortable knowing that I can deal with it with WestCoast Racing,” said Öhlin.
Öhlin performed a test day with the TTA prototype earlier this autumn at Karlskoga and the Swede is enthusiastic.
“The car is great fun to drive and a real race car, it is faster and more challenging to drive. TTA has got an interesting concept that I believe is going to be much more exciting and it is going to be a hard season with close racing,” said Öhlin.
Team manager Dick Jönsson-Wigroth is glad to continue a relationship that started 2010 with Öhlin in Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia.
“Martin had a tough debut season in STCC with a lot of bad luck, but he was often the fastest BMW driver of the field. For me it was obvious to to continue the cooperation with Martin, he is one of the young promising drivers in Sweden and I am convinced that he is going to get up to speed in the new car and championship quickly,” said Öhlin.
Öhlin joins quadruple STCC champion Richard Göransson at WestCoast Racing for TTA 2012.
