Isaac Tutumlu will miss Slovakia
Spanish driver Isaac Tutumlu will miss the Slovakian round of the FIA World Touring Car Championship as his team, Proteam Racing, are unable to repair his car after crash damage sustained last time out at Marrakech.
With the short turnaround time between events at the start of this year’s calendar, all of the cars were en route to Slovakia straight from Morocco, and the Spaniard’s appearance at the Hungarian round the following week is also under threat with limited time and resources available to the team to repair his car.
Tutumlu’s car was damaged in a incident with Lukoil Racing Team driver Aleksei Dudukalo’s SEAT in the first race at Marrakech.
“It’s a shame I am missing the Slovakian round,” said Tutumlu. “This track, Slovakiaring, is new for everyone and I should have used a new engine coming from BMW. I have no doubts we would have improved there, with a better engine without a lack of performance. Maybe Slovakiaring was another chance to repeat my results from Spain.”
