Jens Weimann makes it four in a row at Zandvoort
Jens Weimann won both races at Zandvoort, repeating the feat he achieved at the opening round of the ADAC Procar Series at Oschersleben to build a defiant lead over Paul Green, with Guido Thierfelder also taking his fourth consecutive win in the Division 2 category.
Thate Motorsport driver Weimann qualified on pole and dominated race one, crossing the line 23.5 seconds ahead of the BMW 320si of Liqui Moly Team Engstler’s Paul Green in Division 1, the only other car in that class this weekend after the withdrawal of Milenko Vukovic.
In Division 2, Liqui Moly Team Engstler’s Lennart Marioneck had taken the class pole in his Ford Fiesta 1.6 16v, but was passed by Guido Thierfelder in the ETH Tuning Peugeot 207 Sport and finished in second behind the Division 2 points leader, with the two again finishing in the same positions in race two.
As a result, Weimann leads the Division 1 standings with 40 points ahead of Paul Green on 22, with Andreas Kast, entering at Oschersleben only in third on 8 points.
In the more strongly contested Division 2 class, Thierfelder leads over Nils Mierschke with 40 points to Mierschke’s 27, with Ralf Glatzel of Glatzel Racing third on 22 with Marioneck leaping up to fourth after this weekend’s results on 19 points.
The next round of the ADAC Procar Series is at the Sachsenring on June 10th.
