Edoardo Mortara takes first career pole at Red Bull Ring
Team Rosberg Audi’s Edoardo Mortara has taken his first pole position in the DTM at the Red Bull Ring ahead of HWA Mercedes driver and championship leader Gary Paffett, with former champions Mattias Ekström and Martin Tomczyk on row two.
Mortara’s time of 1:26.171 was fast enough to secure pole position in the Q4 section of qualifying, though the fastest time throughout the session came from Paffett in Q2.
Martin TOmczyk was the top placed BMW driver in fourth for BMW Team RMG, with team-mate Joey Hand starting in fifth place and Bruno Spengler’s Schnitzer BMW in fifth.
Tomorrow’s race takes place at 13:30 CET.
