Will Bratt to race for Rob Austin Racing at Oulton Park
24-year-old Will Bratt will be the only representative for Rob Austin Racing this weekend at Oulton Park in the team’s second Audi A4, with Team Principal/Driver Rob Austin sitting out the weekend due to damage sustained at Thruxton.
Bratt, who has raced for the last two years in the FIA Formula Two Championship and was the 2009 Euroseries 3000 champion, will take over the team’s second car this weekend, which hasn’t raced since the 2011 season finale at Silverstone when it was driven by Chris Swanwick.
“Rob Austin will sit out this round due to damage sustained at Thruxton and a lack of parts,” the team said in a statement.
The team also stated they believe than engine issues which have plagued them in the past two rounds have been resolved, and they “Expect Will (Bratt) to display the true pace of the Audi which has not yet been seen this season.”
The team’s statement also said that “Whilst we are sad not to have Rob out as well, he is still searching for sponsorship and we expect to have a pair of Audis out at Croft.”
