Two Audis at Croft for Rob Austin and Will Bratt
Rob Austin Racing will field both of the team’s two Next Generation Touring Car (NGTC) specification Audi A4s at this weekend’s round of the British Touring Car Championship at Croft, with Will Bratt returning in the #14 Audi and Austin himself behind the wheel of #13.
Austin skipped the last round of the championship at Oulton Park, whilst Will Bratt made his BTCC debut in the team’s second Audi A4, scoring points in his first race.
“I’m confident Will and I will be competitive this weekend,” said Austin to btcc.net. “We’re both very capable drivers and we know the Audi is a very fast car which, due to some bad luck, just hasn’t been seen yet – but Croft is a rear-wheel-drive friendly circuit so hopefully this could be where it finally happens.”
This will be the first time this year the team’s two Audis have raced at the same time.
At the beginning of this season Welsh driver Mark Hazell was due to compete with Rob Austin Racing, but withdrew just ahead of the season opening round at Brands Hatch. Austin himself raced for the first three rounds of the championship before Bratt joined the team at Oulton Park.
