Norisring track break up disrupts DTM support races

Soon after the DTM’s Friday Free Practice session at the Norisring, the track began to break up in the heat during the supporting Volkswagen Scirocco R-Cup practice, which saw qualifying for Formula 3 postponed until tomorrow.

With the air temperature during the free practice session hitting 32 degrees, with the track temperature well into the 40s, the Nuremburg circuit began to break apart during the free practice session for the Volkswagen Scirocco R-Cup which directly followed FP1. The officials therefore decided to postpone the qualifying session for the multi-national Formula 3 event (European and British) until 8:10 CET on Saturday (7:10 BST).

At present, the DTM schedule for Saturday is unchanged with the second free practice session due to take place at 9:35 CET / 8:35 BST and qualifying at 15:10 CET / 14:10 BST.
