Rickard Rydell claims race two pole position at Knutstorp

Reigning champion Rickard Rydell has taken pole position for the second race at Knutstorp, with both Chevrolets sharing pole for both of tomorrow’s races. Current Championship leader Johan Kristoffersson will start second for both races.

Team Biogas.se Volkswagen driver Johan Kristoffersson was the first to set the pace with a time of 1:00.677 which he never bettered in the session.

Race one pole sitter Michel Nykjaer edged closer on his two flying runs in the Chevrolet Motorsport Sweden Cruze, but could only get to 0.076 seconds of Kristoffersson’s time. With less than three minutes to go, Rickard Rydell produced a time of 1:00.665 to claim pole for the race, just 12-thousandths of a second faster than Kristoffersson’s time to secure a double pole for Chevrolet at Knutstorp, just as they did back in May.

Behind Nykjaer will be three Volkswagens, with Patrik Olsson starting fourth in the IPS Team Biogas Scirocco, with Jordi Gené fifth ahead of Johan Stureson. Santosh Berggren and Robin Appelqvist completed the top eight for SEAT Team Sweden.
