Volkswagen team KMS working hard for STCC 2013

Volkswagen team Kristoffersson Motorsport is working hard to be on the grid in STCC 2013 with the new regulations.
“If we are to do STCC, then we are in a rush. We are trying to find solutions to be on the grid already in 2013,” said team owner Tommy Kristoffersson to VF.se.

This is despite that Volkswagen Sweden stated that they are looking to enter the championship not until 2014 with the planned introduction of the 1.6 turbo FIA world engines.

The main reason for KMS pushing hard to enter next year is that they fear the gap to the other teams would be too great if they miss another season with the TTA regulations.
“It think that it is really hard to stand outside for one year and then enter two years after the others and expect that we can be on pace. It is also about our team, if we have no job for them, they are going to disappear and it is going to be difficult to build a good team for 2014 then,” said Kristoffersson.

Kristoffersson expects a decision for 2013 to be taken soon and that time is running out.
“What I can say is that we are in a rush to get something together, the time is almost up. The hope is that we get an answer by mid-December,” said Kristoffersson.
