Despite messages to the contrary on Twitter, RML have confirmed to TouringCarTimes that no deal is yet in place for the BTCC. The ‘ChevyWTCC’ Twitter feed announced mid-morning on Thursday that “Chevrolet and RML will be running two Cruze's in the 2010 BTCC”, before later announcing that Jason Plato was confirmed as one of the drivers, but RML have denied that a deal is done and these messages were subsequently removed.
RML told TouringCarTimes that, "It is our aim to have a team in the BTCC this year and we are working to make that happen but have not announced any plans as yet."
The team wouldn’t comment any further on their BTCC plans nor on indications that had been given to TouringCarTimes by a well placed source that reigning champion Colin Turkington was in talks with the squad.
