Record 32 car entry for 2013 BTCC season

A record 32 cars have been entered for this year’s 2013 British Touring Car Championship.

26 cars will be run to the BTCC’s latest Next Generation Touring Car (NGTC) specification, and six cars will be run in the Super 2000 category where they can compete for the Jack Sears Trophy.

The two Hondas of Matt Neal and Gordon Shedden, and the MGs of Jason Plato and Sam Tordoff are the only manufacturer entries with all others eligible in the independents’ championship.

Michael Caine will drive Motorbase Performances’s third NGTC-spec Focus Focus ST later in the season, whilst Chris Stockton will join the grid during the last half of the season from Snetterton.

The two IP Tech Race Engineering Cruzes will start the season late as confirmed yesterday, with Andy Neate starting at Donington Park and the second car from Snetterton.
