Pepe Oriola confirms Chevrolet switch from next round

18-year-old Pepe Oriola will switch to Chevrolet from the next round of the FIA World Touring Car Championship at Porto in Portugal.

The Spanish driver, who moved up into the top ten in the standings today after a fourth place finish in race two at Moscow, confirmed the rumour which had circulated earlier today on his Facebook account, stating:
“Today was my last race with SEAT, I just have good memories from this time. Next Race: Chevrolet Cruze.”

It’s understood the car will be prepared and most likely run by RML as a third car alongside their programme which is supported by Aon and LUKOIL for Yvan Muller and Tom Chilton, with continued backing from Spanish communications firm Tuenti.

Oriola made his WTCC debut at the age of 16 in 2011, driving for SUNRED Engineering with the SEAT León, and has remained with the team since, with the team changing its name to Tuenti Racing last season.
