Citroën remain the heaviest for their Austrian debut

The FIA have published the compensation weights for the race this weekend at the Salzburgring, and the three C-Elysées of the Citroën Total WTCC will continue to run at the maximum weight of 1,160 (+60kg ballast), while the rival cars of Chevrolet, Lada and Honda will continue at the minimum weight of 1,100kg, as they have done since Hungary.

Over the last three events at Le Castellet, the Hungarororing and the Slovakiaring, the gap between the Citroën team and their rivals has dramatically come down. The Honda Civic is judged to be 0.9 seconds behind the pace, with the Chevrolet RML Cruzes 1.2 seconds down.

The Grantas of the LADA Sport Lukoil team have the most ground to make up, with the cars of Rob Huff, James Thompson and Mikhail Kozlovskiy evaluated to be 2.4 seconds off the pace of the championship leading Citroëns.
