Power Maxed Racing confirms second car for 2015 season

Power Maxed Racing has confirmed to run a second car in the 2015 British Touring Car Championship season.

“We are delighted to be able to grow the team with a view to challenging for podiums in 2015. Signing the 2014 Jack Sears Trophy winner and BTCC race winner Dave Newsham was the first step of many and the expertise of our new Team Manager Martin Broadhurst are set to put Power Maxed Racing firmly on the map this year,” said Adam Weaver, Power Maxed Racing Team Principal.

The team announced Dave Newsham as driver last month, while the identity of the second driver is to be revealed shortly. The team will field two Chevrolet Cruze saloons therefore, after having purchased one car from Aiden Moffat Racing at the end of last season, and had already planned to modify their hatchback model to a saloon shape for this year.

“The second car was always part of the master plan but we wanted to keep it quiet until everything was in place. We’ve been non stop since the end of last season to bring it all together but it’s a great feeling to see it work out,” said Weaver.

The expansion to two cars has been approved by the BTCC organisation, with the TOCA BTCC License (TBL) being bought from United Autosports. And with United Autosport’s other TBL being sold to Tony Gilham Racing earlier, it means that the team is not going to be back in the BTCC.
