TCR UK reveals broadcast package for debut campaign

The new TCR UK series has revealed details of the broadcast package that will be in place when its debut season kicks off at Silverstone at the end of March.

As with other TCR series around the globe, the UK series will stream races live via a range of online platforms including Facebook, YouTube and the TCR portal, whilst coverage will also air on a selection of TV stations – including Front Runner, Motorsport TV and Sky Sports.

Pro-Active Broadcast will handle the production for both the live stream and the broadcast programmes, with Bryn Lucas taking on the role of presenter and Andy McEwan leading commentary duties.

“The announcement we’re making today means that everything is now in place for our first season,” TCR UK media co-ordinator Mark James said. “We think Pro-Active will be fantastic partners and the channels have all shown great enthusiasm for the championship.

“I’m particularly looking forward to working with Bryn and Andy as our presentation team and I’m sure the fans will enjoy superb coverage of what we are confident will be close, exciting racing this year.”

Tommasina Kay, director of Pro-Active Broadcast, said she was pleased to add TCR UK to a portfolio that already includes the Dubai Rugby 7s, Women’s Premier League Football and Britcar.

“We’re absolutely delighted to be involved with the new TCR UK championship,” she said. “The project has huge potential and we’ll work with the organisers to develop the coverage step by step and to promote the TCR brand – including all of the teams, sponsors and partners – with an extensive package of quality live and highlights coverage.”
