Rob Huff leaps to third in the standings after great weekend at Zandvoort

Rob Huff scored his first pole position of the season, setting the new TCR lap record around the Circuit Zandvoort in his Sébastien Loeb Racing Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR, and with a strong weekend with two podium finishes has now leaped to third in the standings.

Huff is just 16 points behind new championship leader Yann Ehrlacher, and seven behind former leader Yvan Muller, who suffered a pointless weekend in the Netherlands, with his Hyundai i30 N TCR struggling with the latest Balance of Performance and compensation weight changes.

“It was a fantastic weekend, and really pleased for the team and to be up to third in the championship,” said Huff.

“I’m really happy with a great weekend with lots of points. That’s all I’m aiming for, I’m not too worried about winning races but to be regularly on and just off the podium and keep scoring points a little off the radar is good.

“Now, we’re going to nice a little break, as there’s a five week gap to the next race, where we’re going to a street circuit when we go to Vila Real. I always do well on the street tracks, so I’m looking forward to that and I think that track will suit the Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR.”
