Francisco Mora takes pole position for the season opener at Braga

Francisco Mora claimed pole position for the first round of the 2018 TCR Portugal series, taking place this weekend at Braga.

Mora set a best lap time of 1:22.299 at the wheel of his Cupra TCR, ahead of reigning champion Francisco Abreu, 0.170 seconds behind in his Peugeot 308TCR.

Team Novadriver’s Armando Parente was third, a quarter of a second behind. The Volkswagen driver beat Speedy Motorsport’s Pedro Salvador, placed fourth, by just 20-thousandths of a second.

Francisco Carvalho was fifth, seven tenths from pole, as Manuel Giao followed in sixth at the wheel of the sole Kia Cee’d TCR, with Joaquim Santos seventh and last in his SEAT.

Race 1 is scheduled for tomorrow at 11:15 CET.
