Lynk & Co open the order books for the 03 TCR

Geely Group Motorsport have confirmed that they are now open for taking orders of the new Lynk & Co 03 TCR, as raced in this year’s World Touring Car Cup by Cyan Racing, with deliveries due to start in Quarter 1 of 2020.

The Chinese manufacturer has been targeted by rival teams in the WTCR for not having sold as yet to any customers outside of the Cyan Racing squad.

This move has seen teams and drivers, most notably at the Honda and Hyundai customer racing programmes, concerned that the car is not as transparent as other TCR car builders.

“We are delighted to make the Lynk & Co 03 TCR available to more customer teams in 2020 after introducing it with the highly successful programme of Cyan Racing in the 2019 FIA World Touring Car Cup,” said Victor Yang, the vice president of communications at Zhejiang Geely Holding Group.

The car will be sold at the top of the TCR price cap of 130,000 EUR, now the only car to retail at that price point, and priority will be given to customers racing the car in China, the marque’s home market.

The Geely Group Motorsport director, Alexander Murdzevski Schedvin, added:

“We are very happy to continue grow the passion for the Lynk & Co brand and for the sport by welcoming more teams to join our customer racing programme.

“Starting with Lynk & Co’s biggest market, China, our ambition is to grow the number of customers successively. The highly successful TCR category offers a cost effective and competitive way for teams all over the world to compete at top level motorsport and we are adamant to become a growing part of it.”
