Gary Paffett claimed pole position for Mercedes at his home event with a lap time of 41.266s.
Augusto Farfus topped the timesheets for BMW in the second free practice session at Brands Hatch with a lap time of 41.312s.
BMW on top again as the DTM hit Brands Hatch for the first free practice. Reigning champion Martin Tomczyk put the BMW M3 DTM on top of the list, 0.077 seconds ahead of leading Mercedes driver Gary Paffett.
Brands Hatch in England is next up for the DTM drivers and teams from Audi, BMW and Mercedes. The 1.9 kilometer indy circuit is as in previous years going to be used, meaning that the race is of 98 laps.
