Johan Stureson was fastest in the morning Scandinavian Touring Car Championship test session at Mantorp Park. The IPS Team Biogas-driver lapped the track in 1:21.173, a time that was 0.146 seconds faster than Tomas Engström in the Honda Civic.
Michel Nykjaer was fastest Chevrolet driver in third, just over three tenths behind Stureson and 0.045 seconds ahead of Superstars championship leader and Volkswagen driver Johan Kristoffersson.
Reigning champion Rickard Rydell claimed fifth fastest time in the 1.6 turbo Chevrolet Cruze ahead of Jordi Gené, who got his first ever taste of the track, in sixth. Patrik Olsson was seventh fastest ahead of top privateer driver in the form of Santosh Berggren in the ex-STR SEAT León with NGTC engine.
Berggren was three seconds off pace with fellow SEAT driver Niclas Olsson, just four thousands of a seconds behind. Brothers Andreas and Joakim Ahlberg hit the track in their ex-KMS Audi A4s but was eight and eleven seconds off pace respectively after only completing about five laps each.
A total of 11 cars took part in the test.
