Niclas Olsson joins Brovallen Design for 2013 season

Reigning STCC privateers’ champion Niclas Olsson will drive a Citroën C5 for Brovallen Design this season. The 22-year-old will join Jocke Mangs, bringing sponsorship from LUKOIL with him to the team.

Olsson won the Semcon Cup for privateers in 2012, dominating the category driving a SEAT León TFSI in the normally aspirated class of the Championship.

With the STCC merging with the TTA series this year, Olsson has stepped up to the top class and will adapt to the rear-wheel drive Solution-F built cars for this year’s Championship. Earlier this week Brovallen Design confirmed a three-year sponsorship deal with LUKOIL, which also backed Olsson’s campaign last season.

Olsson was 13th fastest on the final day of testing at Knutstorp today, and will now wait till the season kicks off in just two week’s time before his first race with the team.

Team Principal Tobias Johansson confirmed the team are still looking for a driver for their third C5 for this year’s Championship.
