Linus Ohlsson wins as championship leader Thed Björk retires

Linus Ohlsson claimed his first STCC victory for Volvo in the second race of the day at Falkenberg. The 22-year-old Swede headed the field from lights to flag, pulling up a gap of five seconds to Fredrik Larsson in second place.
“A perfect race! I didn’t put a single wheel wrong and this is such a great feeling after a tough start to the season,” said Ohlsson.

Larsson headed Fredrik Ekblom and the duo were close to each other towards the end of the race, but with Ekblom not able to get past and having to settle for third.

Richard Göransson crossed the line in fourth and gained important points on championship leader Thed Björk who was forced to retire with just three laps left of the race. Björk was fourth but suddenly slowed down and stopped on the track due to what seemed to be technical problems.

Robert Dahlgren crossed the line in sixth ahead of Mattias Andersson, Jocke Mangs and Robin Rudholm. Daniel Haglöf and Prince Carl Philip Bernadotte rounded off the top ten.

The race went without any major incidents, Tomas Engström spun and lost one lap to the leaders.

STCC heads in to the summer break of three weeks and continues at Östersund in the north of Sweden on August 10th.
