Fredrik Larsson and BMW on top at Knutstorp

Fredrik Larsson and WestCoast Racing topped the second STCC test day at Knutstorp. The BMW driver lapped the circuit in 57.118 and beat Volvo Polestar Racing driver Fredrik Ekblom by a mere 78 thousands of a second.

”It felt really good today and I got down to good times straight away. We are going to go even faster tomorrow,” said Larsson.

The times in the top four were really close, with reigning champion Thed Björk 0.094 seconds behind in third and Larsson’s team mate Philip Forsman in fourth, 0.172 seconds behind.

Richard Göransson was fastest of the Saab drivers in fifth position, four-tenths behind the top time, with Dacia Dealer Team driver Mattias Andersson, who was fastest in the afternoon session, in sixth position.

PWR Racing’s Emma Kimiläinen improved her times substantially from yesterday and was seventh fastest, just over eight-tenths from Larsson’s best time.

STCC testing continues tomorrow for a third and final day.
