Mattias Andersson delighted over first Dacia STCC podium

Mattias Andersson secured a first ever podium finish for Dacia in the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship with third in the first race of the weekend at Gothenburg City Arena.
”This is our best weekend so far with Dacia Dealer Team. It is great to finally take this program all the way to the podium,” said Andersson.

Andersson started third on the grid for the first race thanks to the reversed grid and managed to gain one position in the start. The Dacia driver pressured race winner Erik Jonsson for the lead in the first part of the race, but dropped back as the race progressed and was passed by Kia driver Linus Ohlsson.
”He (Jonsson) blocked me and went wide which made it difficult and risky to try and pass. I made another attempt to pass, but I misjudged the situation somewhat and was passed by Ohlsson,” said Andersson.

The Dacia driver has made a solid start to the season and is currently fifth in the championship with fifth as his lowest finishing position so far.
”It was nice to take that first podium for Dacia. Now we are aiming for the first victory,” said Andersson.
