Nicolas Hamilton aiming for 2015 BTCC

Nicolas Hamilton, brother of F1 star Lewis, has announced ambitions to take part in the 2015 British Touring Car Championship.

”I am excited to announce my ambitions to become the first disabled athlete to compete in the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) in 2015,” wrote Hamilton on his website.

The 22-year-old has previously taken part in Renault Clio Cup UK and most recently the FIA Euroepan Touring Car Cup, finishing 10th overall last year after taking part in the first three race weekends, but not racing anything this year.

”This year has been really tough not being able to race following a promising start in the European Touring Car Cup in 2013, where I proved myself as a competitive driver in Europe regardless of my condition. But that’s just how racing goes,” wrote Hamilton.

Hamilton has not yet announced specific details on his plans for the 2015 BTCC.

“There are still many hurdles ahead before I can confirm my plans, but I will be sure to keep you all updated in the following weeks and months,” wrote Hamilton.
