Philip Forsman closes in on Thed Björk in second Solvalla test

Championship leader Thed Björk was once again fastest in the second STCC test session at Solvalla. But BMW driver Philip Forsman closed the gap in second position and was about two tenths of a second behind.

The session was interrupted three times due to incidents in corner four. First out was Prince Carl Philip Bernadotte after spinning around and beaching his tyres in the gravel. Second was title contender Fredrik Larsson, duplicating Bernadotte’s incident. Last was Jan ”Flash” Nilsson, going off in the corner, but being able to make it back to the pits on his own.

Richard Göransson was third fastest for Team Tidö, lapping in 43.507 which was 0.298 seconds behind Björk in first position.

Mattias Andersson made it four different manufacturers in the top four for Dacia, with Volvo driver Fredrik Ekblom in fifth position.

Andreas Wernersson headed Kia colleague Linus Ohlsson in seventh and eighth position. STCC newcomers Daniel Haglöf and Matte Karlsson rounded off the top ten.

Next up is qualifying, starting at 15.05 CET.
