Adam Morgan declared winner of second Brands Hatch race

Ciceley Racing’s Adam Morgan has been declared the winner of the second Brands Hatch race, after the race stewards handed on-track winner Jason Plato a 20 second penalty.

Triple Eight’s Plato had originally been sent to the back of the grid for the contact with West Surrey Racing’s Colin Turkington, which put the new champion out of the race.

WSR appealed the penalty, arguing that it wasn’t serious enough, and the stewards agreed. The extra penalty for Plato means he is classified 13th in race two.

For Morgan, it is his first win in the BTCC, and a record 11th different winner of the season.
