Mantorp Park back for first ever twilight STCC race

The first ever STCC race held in twilight conditions will be hosted at Mantorp Park this season as replacement for the cancelled Gothenburg race.

”We are glad to see that STCC dares to try this new format at Mantorp Park. We have discussed a format change for a while now, to try something new, and our partners have been very positive,” said Fredrik Sjöqvist, Managing Director of Mantorp Park.

The race will also mark the first ever mid-week STCC race. The Mantorp round will be held over just one day, on Thursday the 25th of June, using the short 1.9 kilometre version of Mantorp, a layout not used for STCC since 2000.

Testing and qualifying will be held in the morning, starting at 09.00, with the first race starting at 19.00 in the evening.

”Mantorp Park has been missed in the calendar by many and it is nice to be able to host a race there after all,” said Jonas Lundin, Managing Director of STCC AB.

The STCC race in Gothenburg was cancelled due to a clashing event, as we have reported about previously.
