Gordon Shedden takes pole position for second race

Gordon Shedden will start on pole position for the second race at Donington Park, after setting the fastest laptime in the first race this morning.

Honda Racing Team’s Shedden becomes the second driver to benefit from the BTCC’s new qualifying format for the middle race, and will be joined by Team BMR’s Colin Turkington on the front row.

Ciceley Racing’s Adam Morgan will start third despite only finishing ninth in race one, while dominant winner Jason Plato will line up fourth.

The Triple Eight Racing MGs of Andrew Jordan and Jack Goff will share the third row, with the latter impressing to finish seventh on the road with maximum ballast.

Shedden’s team-mate Matt Neal will start seventh despite slipping down to 17th in the race, ahead of West Surrey Racing’s Rob Collard, with Dave Newsham and Aiden Moffat completing the top 10.
