Richard Göransson apologises for incident with Emma Kimiläinen

Richard Göransson had a nightmare STCC season start in Skövde with two retired races. The second saw the four-time STCC champion braking too late into the hairpin on the first lap and crashing himself and Emma Kimiläinen into retirement.

”I misjudged how tight things would be in the hairpin and drove into Emma. It was my mistake and I want to apologise to Emma and PWR Racing,” said Göransson.

The Team Tidö driver qualified fourth but suffered from a puncture in the first race and later had to retire after crashing into the wall of turn one.

”This was not what we hoped for. The qualifying result was ok but a bit below my expectations. On the positive side I think we really as a team have taken a step forward from last year and they did a great job to get my car our for the second race. We are going to be back in Anderstorp,” said Göransson.

The STCC resumes on May 30th at Anderstorp Raceway.
