Fredrik Larsson: ”We are going continue to beat Volvo”

Fredrik Larsson claimed the first non-Volvo STCC victory at Anderstorp this weekend since the season finale last year and promises to continue on top.
”It feels really good to score a lot of points and really nice for us to show that we can beat Volvo. We are going to continue with that,” said Larsson.

The BMW driver was fastest in the first wet test at Anderstorp but dropped back in qualifying, claiming the fourth fastest time in the dry qualifying session.

”We didn’t get the car right for qualifying and I was pretty irritated. I was praying for a lot of rain for the races,” said Larsson.

His prayers came true for both races as the heavens opened on the race day. He climbed two positions in the first race to finish second behind title rival Thed Björk and made a strong charge in the second race to win from sixth on the grid.

”I am really pleased. The key was two really good starts that enabled me to be in the right place at the right time. I am looking forward to the coming races, we need to continue to gain points on Björk,” said Larsson.

Larsson is second in the championship, 30 points behind Björk and two points ahead of Volvo Polestar Racing driver Fredrik Ekblom in third.
