Thed Björk superior in first Karlskoga test

Thed Björk seemed completely unaffected by the introduction of penalty weights as he was close to half a second faster than his closest opponent in the first Karlskoga test session.

Team mate and championship rival Fredrik Ekblom was second fastest, carrying 20 kilos compared to Björk’s 30, 0.455 seconds from position one.

BMW title candidate Fredrik Larsson was third fastest, a mere 0.009 seconds ahead of Saab driver Richard Göransson.

Previous race winner Prince Carl Philip Bernadotte continues to impress by being fifth fastest in the session, just below two tenths behind Göransson and eight tenths behind Volvo colleague Björk.

Daniel Haglöf was sixth fastest and the final driver within one second from the top time. Mattias Andersson claimed position seven for Dacia Dealer Team, with Norwegian Kevin Aabol in eighth position as the top Kia driver.

The session featured a couple of spins and off-track excursions, including Emma Kimiläinen, Roger Samuelsson and Erik Jonsson, but with all drivers being able to get back into the pits.

Testing resumes at 17:25 CET with test session two.
