Russell Ingall will step in for James Courtney

Russell Ingall will return to racing in the V8 Supercars at the Sandown 500 race, replacing the injured James Courtney, according to Speedcafe.

The 51-year-old will drive together with Jack Perkins at Holden Racing Team as Courtney has ruled out a return before Bathurst due to his injuries from the freak accident at Sydney Motorsport Park last weekend, as we reported yesterday.

Ingall retired from full-time V8 Supercars racing last year after finishing 18th in the drivers’ championship and has instead become part of the V8 Supercars TV broadcast.
