Gordon Shedden: “It’s all to play for tomorrow”

Gordon Shedden was happy with the balance of his car in qualifying and is confident the pace shown can be replicated in tomorrow’s races.

The championship leader qualified fourth around the Grand Prix circuit, ahead of all of his rivals in the points standings but surrounded by three Team BMR cars on the grid.

“I’d rather start fourth than 14th,” Shedden told TouringCarTimes. “That was OK, we’ve just got to see what tomorrow brings, it’s all to play for. [Starting surrounded by BMR cars] is what it is. I’ve just got to do what I can.”

Shedden’s qualifying has once again shown how well the Honda Civic Type-R carries the success ballast, with the 2012 champion putting in strong results all year when carrying the weight.

“The balance in the car was good,” he said. “We haven’t exactly got a qualifying set-up so I think it’s pretty much good like that for the race.”
