James Moffat to join Volvo Polestar Racing for 2016 V8 Supercars

James Moffat has been confirmed to join Volvo Polestar Racing for the 2016 V8 Supercars.
”I am thrilled to join Volvo Polestar Racing and Wilson Security Racing GRM for the 2016 V8 Supercars. The team has shown great progress over the past two seasons and I look forward to driving the #34 Volvo,” said Moffat.

The 31-year-old is currently driving for Nissan Motorsport and announced his exit from the team last week.

“At 31 years old I believe that James is in the prime of his career and I am confident that he will be a very worthwhile contributor to my team,” said Garry Rogers, team owner of Garry Rogers Motorsport, the Australian racing partner to Polestar.

Moffat is currently placed 17th in the drivers’ championship and will become team mate with Scott McLaughlin in the Volvo team next season.

“I hope that I can now see the 33 car in my rear view mirror rather then in front of me”, joked James Moffat.

Moffat replaces David Wall who was confirmed to step down from full-time racing for Volvo Polestar Racing after the 2015 season.
