Robert Dahlgren to race for Polestar Cyan in 2016 STCC

Polestar Cyan Racing have confirmed that Robert Dahlgren will join the team’s Scandinavian Touring Car Championship programme for 2016, paving the way for 2015 drivers Thed Björk and Fredrik Ekblom to join their new World Touring Car Championship operation in 2016.

Dahlgren, who has been part of Polestar Cyan Racing’s development programme in 2015 in a year out from racing, after racing in the V8 Supercars Championship last season with Garry Rogers Motorsport, will pair up with Prince Carl Philip Bernadotte in one of the two Volvo S60s entered in next year’s STCC, which will be co-run with WestCoast Racing.

”I am here to claim the title,” said Dahlgren. “That is my sole goal for the 2016 season. I have unfinished business in the STCC and I am glad to get the best possible conditions to take on the title challenge with Polestar Cyan Racing.”

In addition to racing in the STCC, Dahlgren will continue to be part of Polestar Cyan Racing’s development programme with the new Volvo S60 TC1.

”We are very happy to announce Robert for our 2016 STCC title challenge,” said Head of Polestar Motorsport Alexander Murdzevski Schedvin.

“Robert has worked with us since 2004 and with him we don’t only get consistent performance in one of the cars, we get a vital contribution to the overall performance in the team. We can depend on his experience and qualities again in 2016.”

Polestar Cyan Racing will announce their two WTCC drivers before the end of 2015.
