Top Run conducts successful test at Cremona with the Subaru WRX

Top Run Motorsport have conducted a full test at the San Martino del Lago circuit near Cremona in Italy, with Luca Rangoni behind the wheel of the team’s Subaru WRX STi, which made its TCR International Series debut in Singapore last year.

The car completed 150km without difficulty, with former front-running WTCC independent driver Luca Rangoni behind the wheel of the car, with Austrian Manfred Stohl also trying out the car for a handful of laps.

Rangoni drove the car on its TCR debut in Singapore last year, before two-time BTCC champion Alain Menu took over in Thailand and Macau.

“This was the first proper test after last year’s races and we were very happy with it,” said team manager Renato Russo. “The car adopted some new solutions that were worked out following the advice given by Luca and Alain Menu. The engine has always been the car’s strong point with an excellent mix of power and range, but now the car also has a good balance although we still need to work to reduce the understeer. This is our priority, because we wish to offer a product that can be easily driven by amateur drivers as well.”

Stohl joined the team for the test, with the Austrian rally driver interested in running the car in the new-for-2016 TCR Deutschland Series.
