Andreas Wernersson aiming for STCC comeback in a BMW

Andreas Wernersson is looking to return to the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship this year in an ex WestCoast Racing BMW.
”I am dreaming to be back in the STCC at my home race in Skövde for the season start,” said Wernersson.

The 21-year-old finished as runner-up in the STCC support class Renault Clio Cup last year after finishing ninth overall in the 2014 STCC for Team Kia with one victory and three podium finishes.

Wernersson is currently working on getting enough budget to rent one of WestCoast Racing’s BMW SRs in the 2016 STCC season.

”There is really no secret in that I am negotiating with them to rent one of their BMWs and run it in my own team. There is still time for me to find a solution and I am really hoping to race in the STCC again. And with a BMW from WestCoast Racing, I do think I would have better possibilities to be in the top,” said Wernersson.

The so far confirmed drivers for the 2016 STCC are Robert Dahlgren, Volvo, Prince Carl Philip Bernadotte, Volvo and Mattias Andersson, Dacia.
