BTCC teams to star at 2016 Goodwood Festival of Speed

Six of the top British Touring Car Championship teams will compete in a ‘BTCC Shootout’ at the 2016 Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Taking place one week after the Croft BTCC meeting, a handful of names from the sharp-end of the grid will go head-to-head at the annual hill climb event at Goodwood House in West Sussex.

Cars and drivers from Team Dynamics, Team BMR, Triple Eight Racing, Motorbase Performance, Ciceley Racing and West Surrey Racing will all compete on the 1.16-mile hill climb alongside a host of top names from every corner of the motorsport fraternity.

The current record up the Goodwood hill is a staggering 41.6 seconds, set in 1999 by Nick Heidfeld in a McLaren Formula One car, and while those sort of times will be out of reach from the BTCC contingent, it is expected that they will be around the 50 second mark.
