Craig Baird confirmed to replace Aaren Russell at Erebus

Craig Baird has been confirmed to replace Aaren Russell at Erebus Motorsport at this weekend’s V8 Supercars races at Queensland Raceway.

“I have raced with Erebus in the past and am familiar and confident with their programme,” said Baird.

“I currently race an Erebus prepared AMG in the Autstralian GT Championship so have worked closely with their crew and Barry Ryan. This coupled with my experience in a Supercar will give us a good foundation to build on this weekend.”

Baird, who has driven a total of 164 V8 Supercars races and claimed five Porsche Carrera Cup Australia titles, will get his first run in the car on Friday during practice.

Russell has left the team following a contractual dispute.
