Teamwork Motorsport send eight-car squad to Macau

The growing Hong Kong-based Teamwork Motorsport team will field eight cars across two different events at this year’s Macau Grand Prix, with their China Touring Car-spec C-Elysées having been accepted for the Guia Race 2.0T.

Paul Hui’s squad will enter four Peugeot RCZs in the Macau Touring Car Cup, Macau’s second tier touring car event for drivers from South East Asia, with former winners Paul Poon and Samson Fung driving for the team alongside Alex Fung and Samuel Hsieh.

In the Guia Race of Macau, CTCC regular Alex Hui will make his debut, joining team-mate Sunny Wong, who made his Guia Race debut last year with WestCoast Racing in their TCR-spec Honda Civic.

This year, the two drivers will be behind the wheel of their Super Cup 2.0T class Citroën C-Elysées, which promise to provide tough competition against the three remaining CTCC class cars entered in the race, those of Star Team with their Mercedes C260 for the UK’s Adam Morgan, and the two Linky Racing Audi A3s of Zhang Ya Qi and Jiang Tengyi.

The CTCC cars will compete against a field of 30 TCR-specification cars, two of which will also be run by Teamwork Motorsport, with their pair of Golf GTI TCRs run for Bill O’Brien and Kevin Tse, both of whom drive for the team in the TCR Asia Series.

The team’s Touring Car Cup Peugeots and the two Guia Race Citroëns will run under the Suncity Racing banner, while the TCR Golfs will carry title sponsorship from REVO Technik.

“I would like to thank our 2016 sponsors, REVO Technik and especially Suncity Group, as their support is much appreciated,” said team principal Paul Hui. “The preparation work for attending the Macau Grand Prix has already begun, and our team members are committed to putting on a good, professional show. Finally, I would like to thank AMCC and the Macau Grand Prix for giving us this opportunity to join in this world renowned motorsport event.”
