Pro-drivers enlisted for TCR pre-season test at Adria Raceway

A number of professional drivers were drafted in to assist in the set-up and development of the 2017-specification TCR cars at the Adria International Raceway today as part of the official Balance of Performance test.

The actual BoP test will be conducted in the cars with non-manufacturer affiliated drivers Andrea Belicchi, a former Ferrari factory sportscar driver, and Nicola Larini, most recently a works driver for Chevrolet in the World Touring Car Championship.

The drivers who took part in the test were:

Kia Cee’d GT TCR – Mike Halder & Janis Baumanis

Peugeot 308 Racing Cup – Aurélien Comte
SEAT León DSG – Miguel Molina
SEAT León SEQ – Jordi Gené
Subaru WRX STi TCR – Luigi Ferrara
Volkswagen Golf GTI SEQ & DSG – Dieter Depping

The Hong Kong-based FRD Team’s Ford Focus TCR missed the first day of testing due to a customs issue on arrival in Amsterdam, but is expected to take part in the remainder of the test which continues tomorrow.
