Ashley Sutton loses Donington Park pole

Ashley Sutton has been stripped of his pole position at Donington Park and relegated to the back of the grid for the opening race of the weekend.

Sutton had stormed to pole with a record breaking time in qualifying at the East Midlands circuit but was then excluded for an overboost issue, promoting Handy Motorsport’s Rob Austin onto pole – giving the Toyota team it’s first pole position.

Jake Hill, who had qualified in sixth place in his Team HARD. run Volkswagen will join Sutton at the back of the grid after the rear wing on his car was found to be out of alignment in post-session technical checks.
