Fredrik Ekblom fastest again in afternoon Knutstorp test

Volkswagen driver Fredrik Ekblom was once again fastest in the afternoon session of the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship test at Knutstorp, just 0.036 seconds off his best time in the morning session.

The session was held in completely dry conditions compared to the wet first part of the morning session.

Audi driver Micke Ohlsson was second fastest in this session, 0.178 seconds from Ekblom. Dennis Strandberg made it two Volkswagens in the top three for Lestrup Racing, 22 thousands of a second behind Ohlsson.

SEAT Dealer Team PWR Racing’s Robert Dahlgren claimed the fourth fastest time, 0.229 behind former Volvo team-mate Ekblom, with Fredrik Blomstedt rounding off the top five, four tenths of a seconds from the top time.

Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky improved from the first session, climbing from the tenth to sixth fastest time for PWR Racing, lapping 0.469 seconds slower than Ekblom in P1.

Mattias Andersson, who has switched from Dacia to Honda for this season, was seventh fastest, with Tobias Brink, who was sixth fastest in the first session, rounding off the top eight for Brink Motorsport.

A total of 18 cars took part in the afternoon session. The official STCC pre-season test days at Knutstorp continues tomorrow.
