No Opel team this season

Opel Team Sweden today announced that they won´t be on the grid of the STCC 2005. “We see no realistic economical chance to get on the grid unfortiunately,” Opel team boss Jan Warnestad said. “Though we are still working on getting a sponsor that will make it possible to compete.”

This means that Tommy Rustad along with the rest of the team most likely is without work this season. “It´s really a shame since we almost have a complete car and engine. This year we would have been able to compete on equal conditions without extra weight or RPM-recucer.” Unless something drastic happends it looks quite dark for the Swedish Opel team to make it to the season premiere at Knustorp on 22 May.
