Anderstorp STCC test

The first STCC test of the year was conducted today at Anderstorp. Cars from Audi, BMW, Honda and Pegueot were at the scene with the independent Alfa Romeo of Mattias Andersson also there.

Richard Göransson was reported to be fastest at the test with his team mate Thed Björk not far behind. “I feel calm and harmonic. I feel no pressure to prove anything,” Göransson said calmly to STCC.se after the test. “This year I think everyone has a chance for the title. Honda, Audi, Peugeot, Volvo are all quick.”

Third fastest was Honda´s Tomas Engström trailed by Johan Stureson in his new Peugeot. “We´ve taken a big step forward compared to last year,” Johan said. Fifth was privateer Mattias Andersson (Alfa Romeo) with the new Audi A4 behind. “This isn´t our best track. We know that BMW are strong here. Also, we only got this car ready last night,” Audi team owner Tommy Kristoffersson said.

Ex-Volvo driver Janne “Flash” Nilsson was also struggling on pace. “We knew everything about the Volvo, but now we´ve only got questionmarks. The difference between rear- and front-wheel drive is vast,” Flash said.

Next STCC testing session will be held at Karlskoga on the 24th of April when more cars are expected to participate, like the Polestar Volvo´s, the new Mercedes C-Class and so on.
