Dahlgren wins at Falkenberg
Robert Dahlgren took his first victory of the year today and Volvo´s second of the year at Falkenberg today. Robert won the race ahead of Richard Göransson in second and Tomas Engström in third. Robert was thrilled after the race.
“I´m usually very excited before the race, but never nervous, but I was that today. I felt a real surge when I got in to the car. It was so long since I won,” Robert said after the race.
Robert was second in the first qualifying race and sixth in the second. Thed Björk won the first qualifying race while Fredrik Ekblom sequred the second ahead of Sandström and Kristoffersson.
With the current heat wave in Sweden several drivers had problems with the tyres. One of those was champion Richard Göransson in his BMW 320i.
“I felt the rear tyres getting worn and I let go to be able to get back at the end and get Robert,” Richard said.
But despite not being able to beat Dahlgren, Richard was happy with the result.
“I am really satisfied, it was a good weekend, but it was really tight at the beginning of the final race,” Richard said.
Third was Honda-man Tomas Engström who came back from his crash at Anderstorp. Tomas had problems with his back but was happy finishing third. Thed Björk still leads the championship with 64 points ahead of Edward Sandström on 58. Third is Tomas Engström with 54 points while Johan Stureson is fourth on 44. Next race is at Knutstorp on the 6:th of August.
