Two Mercedes on the grid

The Mercedes-team confirmed today that there will be two cars on the grid this season. Tobias Johansson and Hans Simonsson will continue from last year driving the two C-Class. One of the biggest steps forward this season for them are the engines.

– The engines were our achilles’ heel last year. But now we have started to co-operate with Motordesign in Kungsbacka and the engines have run well while benching them, Tobias Johansson said to STCC.se.

The goal is clear for both Mercedes drivers, to reach the podium. The STCC field is stronger than ever this season but Hans Simonsson is hopefull.

– We have a new car with few development hours compared to the other cars and teams. But we have good technical partners, so we are optimistic. I hope we can take a podium position, that would be a recognition that we have taken a big step in a short time, Simonsson said.
