Engström takes super pole!

Tomas Engström showed that his strong pre-season performance was to count on. Engström took pole position during the super pole which finished only a few minutes ago at Knutstorp. Engström took pole with a time of 1:01.314, 0.126 seconds faster than Johan Stureson.

– My form from the tests continues. I’m very pleased, the team has done a great work. I’m looking forward to the race tomorrow, an happy Tomas Engström said.

Peugeot-driver Johan Stureson took second place with a time of 1:01.440, only just ahead of Thed Björk, Audi. Björk was fastest on the first qualifying session which decided the drivers for the super pole. But Björk wasn’t able to match his previous time and had to settle for third, just ahead of his team boss Tommy Kristoffersson in fourth.

Places five to seven was occupied by BMW-drivers. Robin Rudholm was fastest in fifth place ahead of Göransson in sixth and Huisman seventh. Fredrik Ekblom took eight and last place of the super pole drivers after having made a mistake in the last corner before the start/finish straight. Ekblom braked a bit too late and got out of line.
