Storckenfeldt disqualified

The stewards decided to disqualify Volvo-driver Alexander Storckenfeldt after his incident with Audi-driver Thed Björk. Storckenfeldt finished in sixth position which means Fredrik Ekblom is moved up in to the points.

The incident between the two was a hot subject after the race. Björk was on his way past Storckenfeldt when the two collided. According to Björk, Storckenfeldt hit him in the rear bumper as he was on his way past. Storckenfeldt, on the other hand, has another version of the incident. According to him Björk cut infront of him too early on his way past and took him self off.

“Thed was driving very rough, he drove in to me several times and when he got past I just held my line. When he tried to close the door I kept my line and he spun. If he is quicker than me he should be able to get past cleanly. If he had not driven in to me I would not have touched him,” Storckenfeldt said.

“I will never speak with him again. He should be banned for life from this championship. I cannot understand how he can drive like that, just straight in to my rear bumper,” a fuming Björk said after the race.

The Volvo-team protested against the decision, but was rejected by the stewards.
